Target Information
The G-protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) superfamily comprises approximately 600–1,000 members, representing the largest known class of molecular targets with proven therapeutic value.
GPR31 is a high-affinity receptor for 12-(S)-hydroxy-5,8,10,14-eicosatetraenoic acid (12-S-HETE), an arachidonic acid metabolite secreted by platelets and tumor cells.
12-(S)-HETE induces endothelial cell retraction, allowing invasive cells access to the subendothelial matrix—a critical step for extravasation or metastasis.
Ligand binding leads to activation of MAPK and NF-κB pathways.
