Target Information
The SEC14L2 gene encodes a cytosolic lipid-binding protein belonging to the Sec14p family. It stimulates squalene monooxygenase, a downstream enzyme in the cholesterol biosynthetic pathway. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
