This antibody has specificity for Human CD200/OX-2.
Target Information
CD200 is a type-1 membrane glycoprotein that contains two immunoglobulin domains and belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily.
It is a broadly distributed cell surface glycoprotein that interacts with CD200R on myeloid cells and helps prevent macrophage activation.
Homologues of CD200 are found in herpesviruses and poxviruses.
Studies in mouse and rat indicate CD200 regulates myeloid cell activity and delivers inhibitory signals to macrophage lineages.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants exist.
Diseases associated with CD200 dysfunction include Mantle Cell Lymphoma and Primary Hypertrophic Osteoarthropathy.
