Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- For formalin-fixed tissues: Heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Heat shock proteins (HSPs) are expressed in response to environmental stress.
HSPB1 (Heat Shock Protein Beta-1, also known as HSP27) acts as a molecular chaperone maintaining denatured proteins in a folding-competent state. It contributes to stress resistance and actin organization.
Through its chaperone activity, HSP27 regulates biological processes such as phosphorylation and axonal transport of neurofilament proteins.
Mutations in HSPB1 can cause Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 2F and distal hereditary motor neuronopathy type 2B.
