SESTD1는 zebrafish의 자발적 수축 및 촉각 반응 결함 돌연변이에서 발견된 새로운 유전자로, SEC14 및 spectrin 반복 도메인을 포함하는 단백질을 암호화합니다. SESTD1은 TRPC4 및 TRPC5 단백질과 상호작용하여 TRPC5의 수용체 매개 활성화를 조절하는 역할을 하며, TRPC 단백질의 새로운 조절 인자로 제안됩니다.
