Product Specific Information
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
CD44 is a 100 kDa cell surface glycoprotein widely expressed on human leukocytes, white matter of the brain, and some epithelial cells of the intestine and breast. Several isoforms exist, including the predominant CD44H isoform found in normal tissues. CD44 functions as a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA) and plays roles in cell-cell interactions, adhesion, and migration. It is also involved in lymphocyte activation, recirculation, and homing. CD44 expression may be upregulated in certain carcinomas, potentially linked to metastatic potential.
