A 1:1,000 dilution of MA5-27559 was sufficient for detection of Malondialdehyde in 2 µg of Malondialdehyde conjugated to BSA by ECL immunoblot analysis using Goat Anti-Mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
Specific for Malondialdehyde-conjugated proteins. Does not detect free Malondialdehyde. Does not cross-react with Acrolein, Crotonaldehyde, Hexanoyl Lysine, 4-Hydroxy-2-hexenal, 4-Hydroxy nonenal, or Methylglyoxal modified proteins.
Target Information
Malondialdehyde (CH₂(CHO)₂) is a byproduct of lipid metabolism and a highly reactive compound that forms advanced lipoxidation end products (ALE) through covalent protein adduct formation. It also forms mutagenic DNA adducts with deoxyadenosine and deoxyguanosine. Malondialdehyde is found in many foods and is abundant in rancid foods.
