Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to reach a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).


Target Information

The Class II PI3 kinases, including PIK3C2A, phosphorylate the 3 position of PI or PI4P.
Although less studied than Class I PI3 kinases, Class II enzymes are linked to various receptor-mediated cellular processes such as insulin signaling, neuronal survival, and growth factor signaling.

PI3-kinases are involved in pathways regulating:

  • Cell proliferation
  • Oncogenic transformation
  • Cell survival and migration
  • Intracellular protein trafficking

PIK3C2A contains a lipid kinase catalytic domain and a C-terminal C2 domain, characteristic of Class II PI3-kinases.
C2 domains act as calcium-dependent phospholipid binding motifs that mediate protein translocation to membranes and protein-protein interactions.
This protein is activated by insulin and may participate in integrin-dependent signaling.
Its PI3-kinase activity is not sensitive to nanomolar levels of wortmannin.
