This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

This antibody is specific for Human Carbonic Anhydrase III (CA3).

Target Information

Carbonic anhydrase III (CAIII) belongs to a multigene family encoding carbonic anhydrase isozymes. These metalloenzymes catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide and are expressed differently across cell types.
CA3 expression is tissue-specific—high in skeletal muscle, lower in cardiac and smooth muscle. Elevated CA3 levels have been observed in some carriers of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The CA3 gene spans approximately 10.3 kb and contains seven exons and six introns.
