Description:
The FR70 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD70, a 30–33 kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein. CD70, a member of the TNF family, is expressed by activated mouse T and B lymphocytes. Interaction of CD70 with CD27, its ligand on T cells, is important in T–B cell crosstalk and plays a role in costimulation and immune regulation.

Applications Reported:
The FR70 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis and immunoprecipitation. It has also been reported in blocking CD70 in vitro. (For functional assays, use Functional Grade purified FR70, Product #16-0701).

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of LPS-stimulated mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤0.5 µg per test. A test is defined as the amount (µg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number should be determined empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information

The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine belonging to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. This cytokine is a ligand for TNFRSF27/CD27 and is expressed on activated, but not resting, T and B lymphocytes. It induces proliferation of costimulated T cells, enhances generation of cytolytic T cells, and contributes to T cell activation. It also regulates B-cell activation, NK cell cytotoxicity, and immunoglobulin synthesis.
