Target Information
MET (c-MET) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to many types of human malignancies. After activation by its ligand, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, leading to activation of signaling cascades including RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC pathways.
MET plays a key role in embryonic development processes such as gastrulation, muscle and neuron development, angiogenesis, and kidney formation. In adults, it contributes to wound healing, organ regeneration, and tissue remodeling. Dysregulation of MET has been associated with cancers including gastric, renal, and breast, making it a valuable target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostics.
