Target Information
Retrovirus receptors allow infection of human and murine cells by various retroviruses. Identified receptors include:
- CD4 for human immunodeficiency virus
- Rec1 for murine ecotropic virus
- GLVR1 for gibbon ape leukemia virus
These proteins show no homology at the DNA or protein level. GLVR1 acts as a sodium-dependent phosphate symporter.
