For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

STAT4 was identified using degenerate primers complementary to conserved regions of other STAT proteins. It shares similarity with STAT1 (52%) and STAT3 (47%).
STAT4 can be tyrosine phosphorylated by Jak1 or Jak2, forming homo- and heterodimers with other STAT family members.
Activated STAT4 binds the IFN-gamma activated site (GAS) and requires serine phosphorylation for maximal transcriptional activity.
STAT4 expression is mainly found in thymus, spleen, and testis.
It is activated by interleukin 12 (IL-12), which is essential for IFN-gamma induction and Th1 response development against intracellular pathogens.
STAT4-deficient mice show impaired IL-12-dependent Th1 cell development and enhanced Th2 cell formation.
In mice, IFN-α/β activation of STAT4 is required for IFN-γ production during viral infection.
