Target Information
Tyrosine phosphorylation plays a critical role in transducing mitogenic signals from transmembrane receptors and in transformation by oncogene tyrosine kinases. Phosphorylation of specific tyrosine residues is a key mechanism in signal transduction during normal mitogenesis, cell cycle progression, and oncogenic transformation.
Antibodies that specifically recognize phosphorylated tyrosine residues are invaluable tools for studying tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins and related biochemical pathways. The fluorescein (FITC) conjugate of clone PY20 anti-phosphotyrosine is particularly useful for detecting P-Tyr proteins in immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical applications where secondary antibody use may complicate detection.
