Target Information
RPS6KA5 (MSK1) is a serine/threonine protein kinase essential for regulating various cellular processes.
It is required for mitogen- or stress-induced phosphorylation of transcription factors CREB1 and ATF1, and regulates RELA, STAT3, and ETV1/ER81.
MSK1 contributes to gene activation via histone phosphorylation and controls inflammatory gene expression.
In skeletal myoblasts, it mediates RELA phosphorylation at Ser-276 during oxidative stress, and in erythropoietin-stimulated cells, it regulates STAT3 phosphorylation at Ser-727.
