Target Information
CatSper4 is a protein encoded by the CATSPER4 gene in humans. It belongs to the cation channels of sperm family, which includes four proteins forming a Ca²⁺-permeant ion channel essential for proper sperm function. This voltage-gated calcium channel plays a key role in calcium-dependent physiological processes such as sperm hyperactivation, acrosome reaction, and chemotaxis toward the oocyte, all critical for successful fertilization.
