Product Specific Information

• Light exposure should be avoided for fluorochrome-conjugated antibodies.
• Use dim light during handling, incubation, and prior to analysis.
• Analyze cells within 18 hours of staining.
• Dilute only the quantity to be used within one week.
• Each lot tested by flow cytometry using human peripheral blood leukocytes (PBL).
• Recommended usage: 5 µL antibody per 1 × 10⁶ cells in 100 µL staining volume.

Target Information

Cluster of differentiation 8 (CD8) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin family. It plays a key role in T cell signal transduction, differentiation, and activation.
CD8 is mainly expressed on T cells as a disulfide-linked heterodimer (CD8α/CD8β), functioning as a co-receptor with TCR for MHC-I molecules.
It is also found on subsets of T cells, NK cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells as CD8α homodimers.
Binding of MHC-I/peptide complexes triggers Lck recruitment, leading to lymphokine production, motility, and cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) activation.
Activated CTLs are essential for pathogen and tumor cell clearance. Differentiation of naive CD8+ T cells into CTLs is enhanced by IL-2, IL-12, and TGF-β1.
