Target Information
Phospholipid Scramblase 1 (PLSCR1) is a calcium-dependent plasma membrane protein involved in the transbilayer movement of phosphatidylserine and other phospholipids upon calcium influx. This process contributes to membrane remodeling and phosphatidylserine exposure in apoptotic or injured cells, leading to cell death. PLSCR1 expression is induced by interferons and cytokines, suggesting a role in cytokine signaling. EGF stimulation causes tyrosine phosphorylation at residues 69 and 74, enabling interaction with Shc and linking Src kinase activation to EGF receptor signaling.
