Target Information

The VAV3 gene encodes a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for Rho family GTPases, which activate pathways involved in actin cytoskeletal rearrangements and transcriptional regulation.
VAV3 acts preferentially on RhoG, RhoA, and to a lesser extent, RAC1, associating maximally with nucleotide-free states of these GTPases.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.
