• Reconstitution:
  Add 50 µL or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
  The antibody is shipped as a lyophilized powder at room temperature.
  Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
  Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week.
  For longer storage, aliquot and store at -20°C.
  Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
  Centrifuge antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

CatSper1 is a voltage-gated calcium channel essential for sperm function and fertilization.
It mediates calcium-dependent responses such as sperm hyperactivation, acrosome reaction, and chemotaxis toward the oocyte.
Activated by extracellular progesterone and prostaglandins in the following order of potency: progesterone > PGF1α = PGE1 > PGA1 > PGE2 >> PGD2.
Progesterone activation shifts voltage dependence toward more negative membrane potentials, independent of metabotropic receptors.
Sperm capacitation enhances this effect by further negative shift.
Also activated by elevated intracellular pH.
