Target Information

The UHRF1 gene encodes a member of the RING-finger type E3 ubiquitin ligase subfamily.
Key functions:

• Binds specific DNA sequences and recruits histone deacetylase to regulate gene expression
• Expression peaks at late G1 phase and continues through G2 and M phases
• Plays a major role in the G1/S transition by regulating topoisomerase IIα and retinoblastoma gene expression
• Functions in the p53-dependent DNA damage checkpoint

Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms are known for this gene.
