Target Information

POU5F1, also known as Oct-4, is a maternally expressed octamer-binding transcription factor crucial for early embryonic development. It plays a key role in maintaining pluripotency and is used in stem cell research and regenerative medicine. Expression of POU5F1 along with Sox2, Klf4, Lin28, and c-Myc enables the generation of induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells without viral vectors, improving safety for potential therapeutic applications.
