Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Osgep (O-sialoglycoprotein endopeptidase), also known as GCPL1, is a 335 amino acid protein belonging to the peptidase M22 family. Osgep specifically cleaves the 31-Arg-l-Asp-32 bond in glycophorin A but does not cleave desialylated glycoproteins, unglycosylated proteins, or glycoproteins that are only N-glycosylated.
It is ubiquitously expressed at low levels, with highest expression in liver, skeletal muscle, and kidney.
OSGEPL1 (Qri7), a related 414 amino acid protein from the KAE1/YgjD family, exists as three alternatively spliced isoforms and is required for formation of a threonylcarbamoyl group on adenosine in tRNAs with codons starting with adenine.
