GARS (glycyl-tRNA synthetase)는 아미노아실-tRNA 합성효소 중 하나로, tRNA에 해당 아미노산을 결합시키는 역할을 합니다. 이 단백질은 α₂ 이합체 형태로 존재하며, class II tRNA synthetase 계열에 속합니다. 또한 인간 자가면역질환인 다발성근염(polymyositis) 및 피부근염(dermatomyositis)에서 자가항체의 표적 단백질로 알려져 있습니다.
