Target Information
Red Fluorescent Protein (RFP) is isolated from sea anemone (Discosoma sp., Uniprot ID: Q9U6Y8). It is widely used as a molecular tag for studies of protein localization, reporter gene expression, and protein–protein interactions. Although RFP naturally forms a homotetramer, monomeric variants have been engineered for diverse applications.
