Target Information
RPS6KA1 (RSK1) is a growth-factor regulated serine/threonine kinase involved in the MAPK cascade. It controls cellular proliferation and differentiation through phosphorylation of transcription factors.
RPS6KA1 contains two nonidentical kinase catalytic domains and phosphorylates various substrates, including members of the MAPK signaling pathway.
Its activity is implicated in the regulation of cell growth and differentiation. Alternate splice variants producing different isoforms have been identified.
