Antibody detects endogenous levels of total ATF1.
Target Information
This gene encodes an activating transcription factor belonging to the ATF subfamily and bZIP (basic-region leucine zipper) family. It regulates downstream target genes associated with growth, survival, and other cellular processes.
The protein is phosphorylated at serine 63 by various kinases, enhancing transactivation and transcriptional activity, and promoting cell transformation.
Chromosomal translocations involving this gene and FUS (chromosome 16) or EWSR1 (chromosome 22) generate chimeric proteins found in angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma and clear cell sarcoma.
A pseudogene exists on chromosome 6.
