YAP (Yes-Associated Protein)은 WW 도메인 단백질 계열의 창립 멤버로, 전사 공동활성화 인자이자 온코진입니다. 이 유전자는 편평세포암에서 전사적으로 활성화되며, Hippo 신호전달 경로의 주요 하위 조절 대상입니다. Hippo 경로는 증식 억제와 세포사멸 촉진을 통해 기관 크기 조절 및 종양 억제에 중요한 역할을 합니다. 또한 조직 장력, 3D 조직 형태, 세포 증식, 사멸, 이동에 관여합니다. IRF5 유전자 돌연변이는 coloboma를 유발합니다.
