Target Information
This gene encodes a protein involved in G protein–mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling cascades. When overexpressed in mammalian cells, it potently suppresses RAS- and MAPK-mediated signals and interferes with JNK activity, suggesting a role in signal repression. The encoded protein is an integral subunit of the NCOR1-HDAC3 complex, which inhibits JNK activation and may mediate hormone-dependent antagonism of AP1 function.
