Target Information
TLR6 (Toll-like receptor 6) is a member of the toll-like receptor family which plays a fundamental role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity. TLRs are highly conserved and share structural and functional similarities. TLRs recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) expressed on infectious agents and mediate cytokine production necessary for effective immunity. TLR6 functionally interacts with TLR2 to mediate cellular responses to bacterial lipoproteins.
