Target Information

Galactose-specific lectin that binds IgE. May mediate alpha-3, beta-1 integrin-dependent stimulation by CSPG4 for endothelial cell migration. Along with DMBT1, it is required for terminal differentiation of columnar epithelial cells during early embryogenesis. Acts as a pre-mRNA splicing factor in the nucleus. Involved in acute inflammatory responses such as neutrophil activation and adhesion, monocyte/macrophage chemoattraction, opsonization of apoptotic neutrophils, and mast cell activation.
