Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).

Target Information

BCL-2 is a key regulator of apoptosis that can inhibit or promote cell death. Members of the BCL-2 family dimerize to modulate apoptosis.

  • Bag1 forms a heterodimer with BCL-2, enhancing its anti-apoptotic effect.
  • Bax and Bak promote cytochrome c release from mitochondria, initiating apoptosis.
    Constitutive expression of BCL2, such as translocation to the Ig heavy chain locus, is associated with follicular lymphoma.
    Neoplastic germinal centers express high levels of BCL-2 alpha protein, unlike normal or hyperplastic centers.
    Two transcript variants of BCL-2 differ in their C-terminal ends. Overexpression is linked to B-cell lymphoma and prostate cancer.
