EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor)는 다양한 성장인자에 반응하는 수용체 티로신 키나아제로, 과발현 시 여러 종류의 암과 관련이 있습니다. EGFR은 인간 염색체 7에 위치한 EGFR 유전자에 의해 암호화되며, HER/ERbB 패밀리에 속하는 ERbB2, ERbB3, ERbB4와 함께 작용합니다. EGF 및 TGF-α 등의 리간드 결합 시 EGFR은 이합체를 형성하고, 세포질 도메인의 티로신 잔기들이 자가 인산화되어 신호전달을 유도합니다. EGFR의 과발현은 두경부, 뇌, 방광, 위, 유방, 폐, 자궁내막, 자궁경부, 외음부, 난소, 식도, 위 및 편평세포암에서 관찰됩니다.
