Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

STAT4 was identified using degenerate primers complementary to conserved regions of other STAT proteins. It shares 52% similarity with STAT1 and 47% with STAT3. STAT4 can be tyrosine phosphorylated by Jak1 or Jak2, forming homo- and heterodimers with other STAT family members. Phosphorylated STAT4 binds to the IFN-gamma activated site (GAS), and serine phosphorylation enhances transcriptional activity.

STAT4 expression is mainly found in the thymus, spleen, and testis. It is activated by interleukin 12 (IL-12), which is crucial for IFN-gamma induction and Th1 immune response development. STAT4-deficient mice show impaired Th1 differentiation and increased Th2 cell development. Additionally, IFN-α/β activation of STAT4 is required for IFN-γ production during viral infection.
