This antibody detects Cytokeratins 4, 5, 6, (and to a lesser extent) 8, 14, and 16.

Target Information

Cytokeratin pan belongs to a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by remarkable biochemical diversity. In human epithelial tissues, at least 20 different cytokeratin polypeptides are represented, ranging in molecular weight from 40 kDa to 68 kDa, with an isoelectric pH between 4.9 and 7.8.
Human cytokeratins are numbered 1 to 20, and their expression patterns vary depending on epithelial type, maturation, and differentiation. These patterns are valuable in distinguishing epithelial malignancies.
Cytokeratin antibodies assist in tumor differential diagnosis via immunohistochemistry, and are useful in cytopathology and flow cytometry assays. The composition of cytokeratin pairs varies with cell type, growth environment, and disease state. Keratins serve as important markers in cancer research and tumor diagnosis.
