Target Information
ATP5S, also known as ATP synthase subunit S or coupling factor B, is a 215-amino acid mitochondrial inner membrane protein involved in the regulation of mitochondrial membrane ATP synthase. It is essential for H⁺ conduction and energy transduction within ATP synthase complexes.
The ATP5S gene is conserved across multiple species (chimpanzee, canine, bovine, mouse, rat, chicken, zebrafish, mosquito) and is located on human chromosome 14q21.3.
