Target Information
MYT1L (myelin transcription factor 1-like protein) is primarily expressed in the developing central nervous system and recruits histone deacetylase (HDAC) to regulate neural transcription. Both MYT1L and MYT1 interact with SIN3B, which mediates transcriptional repression via HDAC binding, suggesting that the MYT1 family contributes to gene silencing during neural development. Polymorphisms in MYT1L have been associated with schizophrenia.
