This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).

Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production.

This antibody has specificity for human MSR1/SCARA1/CD204.

Target Information

The CD204 (MSR1) gene encodes class A macrophage scavenger receptors, including three isoforms (types 1, 2, and 3) generated by alternative splicing. These macrophage-specific trimeric glycoproteins are involved in physiological and pathological processes such as atherosclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, and host defense.

• Type 1 and 2 isoforms: Functional receptors mediating endocytosis of modified LDLs.
• Type 3 isoform: Does not internalize modified LDL due to altered intracellular processing; retained in the endoplasmic reticulum and can inhibit types 1 and 2 (dominant negative effect).

Diseases associated with MSR1 include Barrett Esophagus and Prostate Cancer.
