Target Information
Ubiquitin-mediated proteolysis involves the transfer of ubiquitin (Ub) to lysine residues on target proteins, marking them for degradation by the 26S proteasome. The UFD1 protein, originally identified in yeast and later in humans as UFD1L, regulates this process by modulating the degradation of Ub-fusion proteins. Mutations in the UFD1 gene are associated with CATCH22 syndrome, which includes cardiac defects, cleft palate, and hypocalcemia, suggesting a developmental role for this pathway.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
