Product Specific Information
- Antibody tested in direct ELISA.
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Formalin-fixed tissues require heating in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
Dystrophin is a 427 kDa protein product of the DMD/BMD gene located on the X chromosome (Xp21).
Western blotting and immunohistochemistry are established methods for detecting dystrophin expression abnormalities in muscle biopsies.
Dystrophin abnormalities are observed in nearly all DMD/BMD patients, though genetic mutations may be detectable in only ~65% of cases.
