Product Specific Information
- Antibody is tested in direct ELISA.
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed tissues), incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Dystrophin is the 427 kDa protein product of the DMD/BMD gene located on the X chromosome at position Xp21. Western blotting and immunohistochemistry are established methods for detecting abnormalities of dystrophin expression in muscle biopsies. Dystrophin abnormalities occur in nearly all patients with DMD/BMD, although genetic abnormalities may only be detected in up to 65% of cases.
