EBF4 belongs to the COE family and contains one IPT/TIG domain.
It is a transcriptional factor that recognizes variations of the palindromic sequence 5'-ATTCCCNNGGGAATT-3'.
EBF4 is part of the conserved Olf/EBF family of helix-loop-helix transcription factors, which play important roles in neural development and B-cell maturation (Wang et al., 2002 [PubMed 12139918]).
