Target Information
ZNF839, also known as C14orf131, is an 811 amino acid protein containing one C2H2-type zinc finger. The gene encoding ZNF839 localizes to chromosome 14, and four isoforms are expressed due to alternative splicing.
Chromosome 14 contains approximately 700 genes and 106 million base pairs, representing about 3.5% of human DNA. It encodes several important genes, including PSEN1 (associated with Alzheimer’s disease) and SERPINA1 (linked to alpha1-antitrypsin deficiency). The immunoglobulin heavy chain locus is also located on chromosome 14 and has been identified in (14;19) translocations found in B cell malignancies.
