Target Information
MAP2K1 (MEK1) kinase is a dual-specificity protein kinase functioning in MAPK cascades, regulating cell growth and differentiation. Activated by various growth factors, cytokines, and membrane depolarization. Phosphorylation at serine 218 and 222 by Raf1 activates Mek1. Involved in stress response, apoptosis, and cytokine-induced proliferation. Mutations can lead to cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome.
