Product Specific Information
The TRI-COLOR® conjugate is a tandem R-phycoerythrin (PE)-Cy5 conjugate that permits simultaneous multicolor labeling and detection of multiple targets with excitation by a single excitation source — the 488 nm line of the argon-ion laser.
Target Information
CD80 (B7-1) and CD86 (B7-2) are ligands of T cell costimulatory molecule CD28 and inhibitory receptor CTLA-4 (CD152). Both are expressed on professional antigen-presenting cells and are essential for T cell activation. CD80 is rapidly induced on activated B cells, EBV-transformed B cell lines, Burkitt’s lymphoma cells, follicular B lymphoma cells, T cells, and monocytes.
The B-lymphocyte activation antigen B7-1 provides regulatory signals for T lymphocytes via CD28 and CTLA4 binding.
Diseases associated with CD80 dysfunction include gallbladder squamous cell carcinoma and myocarditis.
