Target Information
NIT2 has omega-amidase activity, converting alpha-ketoglutaramate and alpha-ketosuccinamate into biologically useful alpha-ketoglutarate and oxaloacetate. Overexpression of NIT2 decreases colony-forming capacity of cultured cells by arresting cells in the G2 phase of the cell cycle.
