Target Information
NME4 is a protein kinase that transfers a phosphate group from ATP to an acceptor amino acid in substrate proteins. This process mediates signal transduction in eukaryotic cells, regulating metabolism, transcription, cell cycle progression, cytoskeletal rearrangement, cell movement, apoptosis, and differentiation.
Protein kinases form one of the largest protein families in eukaryotes, classified into 8 major groups based on sequence comparisons of their catalytic domains. The AGC kinase group includes 63 kinases such as PKA, PKG, PKC, RAC/Akt, ARK, and RSK families.
