Product Specific Information
Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.
This antibody shows specific reactivity for human Cenexin-1 protein. BLAST analysis indicates potential cross-reactivity with Cenexin-1 from human, chimpanzee, mouse, rat, and bovine sources based on 100% homology with the immunizing sequence. Reactivity with Cenexin-1 from other species has not been determined.
Target Information
Cenexin-1 appears to be a major component of sperm tail outer dense fibers (ODF), filamentous structures located outside the axoneme in the midpiece and principal piece of mammalian sperm tails. These structures may help maintain passive elasticity and recoil of the sperm tail and influence sperm motility.
It functions as a scaffold protein localized at the distal/subdistal appendages of mother centrioles and is a component of the centrosome matrix required for PLK1 and NIN localization. It is essential for the formation and/or maintenance of normal CETN1 assembly.
