Target Information
Ribosomes are organelles that catalyze protein synthesis, composed of small 40S and large 60S subunits. These subunits contain RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins. The RPL30 gene encodes a ribosomal protein that is part of the 60S subunit and belongs to the L30E family. It is located in the cytoplasm and co-transcribed with the U72 small nucleolar RNA gene in its fourth intron. Multiple processed pseudogenes of this gene are dispersed throughout the genome.
