Neuronal CDC2-like kinase, involved in regulation of neuronal differentiation, consists of a catalytic subunit (CDK5) and an activating subunit (p25NCK5A). The CDK5RAP1 protein binds to p25NCK5A and may play a role in neuronal differentiation. Multiple transcript variants exist, with two full-length forms identified.
